Senior SQL Database Administrator

The Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) will provide expert-level support, development, and maintenance of SQL Server and related database environments for one of our upcoming contract opportunities. This includes supporting SQL Server, SQL Cluster, MariaDB, MySQL, and MS Access databases. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring database integrity, availability, and performance across enterprise systems.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

• Manage and maintain SQL Server instances, SQL Cluster environments, and associated databases.
• Perform daily troubleshooting, configuration, and optimization of SQL environments.
• Support Requests for Change (RFC) and FootPrints tickets related to GBIS and enterprise systems.
• Design, implement, and monitor backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
• Collaborate with application teams (SharePoint, internal systems) for data integration and support.
• Ensure compliance with GPO security and operational policies.
• Document database configurations, standards, and procedures.
• Provide weekly reports detailing activities, issues, and resolutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting SQL Server and Cluster environments.
• Experience with MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS Access.
• Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of database security, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience supporting federal or large enterprise clients preferred.
